Create your Backpack account and set up your student

Set up a tuition payment (immediately notifying the University)

Add your Backpack account as a new bank and initiate a withdrawal

*Note: Your 529 may impose a hold period on withdrawals to new linked accounts (for the first time only). Don’t worry though! Initiating a payment through Backpack immediately lets your University know you are paying with your 529. Backpack also provides real-time alerts so you know exactly when to make a withdrawal.

Priority Delivery Check

Your 529 plan might offer an expedited check delivery option for a fee.

This delivery option can be as quick as three business days, though we still suggest budgeting for at least one week for the check to arrive and get processed by your University.
